We are again excited to offer this spectacular 2 kilogram silver coin featuring beautiful and serene Koi Fish. Koi fish are especially esteemed in East Asia for their symbolic significance. Synonymous with harmony and happiness, Koi are often portrayed as two halves of the Yin Yang symbol in Feng Shui, representing opposing, yet balancing forces that govern the Universe.

Known for their energy and tenacity, which allow them to swim against strong currents, koi are popularly associated with strength, determination, and success. With the Chinese pronunciation of the word yú (fish) sounding like the term for riches, koi are also strongly linked to wealth and prosperity, most notably when golden in colour.

Struck by The Perth Mint from 2 kilos of 99.99% pure silver, the coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.

The design:

The reverse portrays three koi fish swimming in a pebble lined stream with water lily flowers floating on the surface. Included in the design is the inscription ‘KOI’, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, and the coin’s weight, purity and 2023 year-date.

The obverse bears The Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Obverse, featuring the Jody Clark effigy supplemented with the dates of her reign, and the monetary denomination.

The coins are individually edge numbered from 1 to 200.

The coin is housed in a stylish acrylic case for easy display. Each coin is packaged in a prestigious wooden presentation box and accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
