This extraordinary coin is created in cooperation with Andrzej Sapkowski, a famous Polish writer who wrote books in the series ‘The Witcher’. On the basis of his works, CD Project Red created a series of games in addition to a hit Netflix TV series. In the spirit of this massively popular franchise, Mint of Gdansk will release collectible coins with incredible designs from The Witcher.
The Witcher saga continues with the 2023 Baptism of Fire with every detail brougt to vidid life thanks to the exceptional high relief strike. There is also select gilding and a special 3D copper insert on the reverse.
The obverse is decorated with intricate ornaments and symbols related to the story along with the pedigree information regarding year, denomination, purity and issuer.
Limited mintage of only 2000 pieces worldwide with only a small allocation being made available to the collector market. Remaining issues will be reserved for organizations closely associated with the book series.
Backstory:
Baptism of Fire introduces new characters while Geralt, in recovery after the Thanedd coup, is anxious to resume his trek to rejoin Ciri. The reverse highlights one of these new companions, Milva, an expert archer and hunter who will follow him to Nilfgaard, a journey wrought with interesting encounters and dangerous situations.
