Germania Mint at Art in Coins

2023 marks the 550th anniversary of the birth of Nicolaus Copernicus, Poland’s most famous astronomer. To commemorate the occasion, we present the 2023 Malta Copernicus 10 Euro 2 oz Silver Coin from Germania Mint.

Nicolaus Copernicus launched the scientific revolution and had a significant impact on its development. His most important achievement is the heliocentric theory, which stated that the Earth and other planets revolve around the Sun, not the other way around, as was believed at the time. Copernicus published this theory in his work entitled “De revolutionibus orbium coelestium” (On the Revolutions of the Celestial Spheres).

The reverse of the coin with the image of Copernicus is ennobled with a geniune amber insert along with select 24K gold plating. The obverse features a 16th-century conceptualization of our solar system.

The coin, designed by Natalia Danysz, will deliver with premium packaging and a low worldwide mintage of 1,473 numbered pieces.
