Knights of the Past is a hit coin series created through close cooperation between the Central Bank of Malta and Germania Mint. The reverse of the third and final coin depicts the Knights of Malta with the Valetta Watchtower behind them, as well as the Order’s headquarters during the siege of the island – Fort Saint Angelo in Birgu. The coin’s obverse, as in previous years, depicts the Central Bank of Malta coat of arms on a shield held by a Maltese knight.
