2018 Great Britain 2 Ounce Scotlands Unicorn Queen's Beasts Ruthenium & Gold Silver Coin
Presenting the exciting follow up release after the 2017 2 Ounce Ruthenium and Gold plated Griffin of Edward III, another 5 Pound issue from the renowned British Royal Mint. As with the quick sellout first edition, these coins feature the stunning finishing quality that starts with a full plating of Ruthenium followed by a .999 gold plating of the motif.
This striking fine silver coin is the fourth design in the Queen’s Beasts British coin series, issued by The Royal Mint since 2016. The reverse design features a remarkable rendition of the Unicorn of Scotland (of Scottish Royal Arms fame) gallantly leaping over the Scottish shield. Encircling this magnificent image, a frame bearing the year of release and the title, ‘Unicorn of Scotland.’
The obverse design, as well as the reverse, were both the handiwork of renowned royal mint engraver, Jody Clark. The obverse image is the current coinage portraiture of Her Majesty The Queen, encircled by her title and the coins denominational value.
This private mint issued Ruthenium coin is in very high demand due to its ultra low mintage of just 200 sets worldwide.
