2026 Cook Islands 1/2 Gram Krios Silk Finish Gold Coin
This is the seventh and final edition of the successful series in which famous ancient coins get a new modern look. For this last issue, Krios takes us to Delphi which was an important ancient place of worship in Greece, dedicated to the god Apollo.
Delphi is particularly well known for its famous oracle. It was considered a religious center and regarded by the Greeks as the “navel of the world”. The coin depicts a Ram’s head where, in ancient Greece, this symbolized strength, sacrifice, divine protection and fertility.
The ram was also often found on rhytons. A rhyton (Greek rhýein = “to flow”) is an ancient conical drinking vessel, very often in the shape of an animal’s head. As always, each year delivers three different versions, this one being 1/2 gram gold with a silk finish.
