Le Grand Mint’s latest bullion project and the second in the series combines classic and contemporary elements to highlight the great work behind each product while looking towards the future.
Designed by Rome-based Italian designer Carmen Testa and commissioned by LGM, the bars reflect the ancient iconography of the Italian deity Fors Fortuna, who was worshipped in a sacellum on the right bank of the Tiber.
In the Middle Ages, Fortuna was often depicted next to a wheel and blindfolded to emphasize her capriciousness. Here, she is reinterpreted in a modern way, transforming the wheel into the coat of arms of Le Grand Mint.
A pattern can be seen in the background, but on closer inspection the initials of Le Grand Mint, LGM, can be seen in three dimensions.
