This is the 6th edition of a coin series honoring a very famous work of art. Faberge Eggs are known as priceless treasures that were specifically made for Royalty and some of the wealthiest families in the world.
The Lilies of the Valley egg was given by Tsar Nicholas II to his wife, Tsarina Alexandra Fyodorovna, for Easter in 1898. The egg is covered with a pink-colored enamel guilloche and decorated with miniature lily flowers made of diamonds and pearls. The egg epitomizes Fabergé’s characteristic combination of luxury and nature themes.
The design of the Lilies of the Valley egg was strongly inspired by the Art Nouveau style that was popular in Europe at the time. Today, the egg, which has an estimated value of around 18 million dollars, is owned by Victor Vekselberg and is open to the public in the museum in St. Petersburg.
This proof quality stunner is limited to only 888 pieces worldwide.
