St. Matthias stands as the sixth release in the prestigious 12 Apostles Series, commemorating the only apostle chosen after Christ’s ascension — A man called by divine will to restore the Twelve. Though often standing in the shadows of more renowned apostles, St. Matthias’s story is a beacon for all who serve with quiet faith and unwavering devotion.
This stunning silver coin captures the depth of St. Matthias’s sacrifice, humility and martyrdom, brought to life through masterful high-relief engraving and antique finish to enhance the fine details.
The design:
The reverse of the St. Matthias Coin depicts the powerful and somber moment of his martyrdom, historically believed to have been through stoning and beheading. Emerging from the scene, a figure of St. Matthias appears breaking through a field of jagged stones, gazing upwards with serenity and resolve, embodying his final witness of faith. Each detail—from his weathered face to the scattering stones—captures the gravity of his sacrifice.
