Each Jewelled Snake is minted to order with an approximate 4 – 6 weeks lead time for manufacturing. Payment by direct bank deposit / wire only. As of this date, July 7th 2023, Art in Coins has sold #4 and there now remains 2 last coins from the 2023 issues, #3 & #7.

An important note, the Argyle diamond mine in Western Australia ceased operations in 2020 which means more than 90% of total global supply of these rare colored diamonds is no longer coming to market. If the Jewelled series continues, we anticipate continually higher prices for future releases.

And now, here is the 2023 Jewelled Snake, an exceptional numismatic centerpiece showcasing rare and spectacular treasures from two Western Australian icons – Argyle Pink Diamonds and The Perth Mint.

Believed to wield mysterious powers, snakes have been held in lofty regard for millennia. In ancient Oriental mythology, they were credited with an abundance of wisdom. According to the principles of feng shui, snakes can help attract wealth, while lunar astrology ascribes strong leadership skills to those born under the sign of the snake.

Struck from 10 Troy Ounces of 99.99% pure gold in proof quality, the coin is mounted with a three-dimensional figure of a snake coiled about a tree branch. The 18-carat gold snake is pave-set with 175 pink diamonds from the Argyle mine, while the belly is pave-set with 111 white diamonds. Two emeralds represent the eyes of the snake.

Each coin is issued as Australian legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.

The Perth Mint will release only eight of these rare and collectable coins on a mint-to-order basis. Please note the lead time for ordering this coin is between two and four weeks.

The coin’s artistry portrays a snake coiled about a tree branch, and includes floral motifs representing plum tree blossom – a noble flower in Asian cultures associated with rebirth and renewal.

Issued as Australian legal tender, the coin bears The Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Obverse featuring the Jody Clark effigy, supplemented with the dates of her reign, weight and fineness, 2023 year-date and monetary denomination.

Unprecedented Packaging:

The Jewelled Snake is presented in prestigious packaging including a robust carry case which opens to reveal a magnificent luxury display case, in which the coin is housed.

The coin rests within a perspex panel that rotates 360 degrees and is illuminated by a row of lights to maximize the effect of the glittering diamonds.

The doors of the display case feature two 18-carat gold plates with an Argyle pink diamond on each side. The case also features an individually numbered 18-carat rose gold plaque, which corresponds to the Certificate of Authenticity.
