Forever immortalized in a stunning 3D shape minted silver coin is Tutankhamun’s Sarcophagus and it is part of Solomon Islands commemorative “100 Years of Tutankhamun” Series.

This amazing coin is struck from 5 ounces of 99.9% pure silver fully plated in 24K pure gold and replicating the innermost coffin of King Tut’s sarcophagus.

Tutankhamun’s Sarcophagus, containing three coffins was discovered by Howard Carter in 1925.  Located in the Valley of the Kings in a tomb now identified as KV62.  The outer two coffins were contructed from wood while the innermost and third coffin was made of solid gold.
