This gorgeous 2 ounce coin is the first issue from Mint21’s “Greatest Porcelain” series. The coin depicts a small blue and white dragon porcelain vase that was sold for just almost £ 5million – about 500 times more than it was estimated.
The original Dragon Vase dates back to the Qianlong period. It was owned by the last Chinese royal family. It is decorated with a porcelain insert in the shape of a vase that creates a unique masterpiece.
This insert clearly reproduces the original look of the vase and contains an intricate dragon motif. The sides are densely painted with 6 meticulously rendered five-clawed dragons portrayed emerging from crashing waves and flying amid stylized clouds and flames.
This is a true numismatic gem featuring an incredibly fine piece of genuine Chinese porcelain.
