The Zi:Sin Series is a 12-medal release featuring the Korean mythological figures associated with the 12 directions of the world. It is the responsibility of these 12 Guardians to watch for the rise of evil and be prepared to fight on behalf of God to keep evil in check so that it cannot defeat the forces of good.
Scrofa is the guardian featured on the reverse of the 2019 10 oz South Korean Zi:Sin Silver Medals. She is the third guardian to feature in the series and is said to have the powers to duplicate herself in battle to confuse her enemies, and even foresee the rise of evil over great distances. She is assigned to guard the Salt Lake, the point where the mortal and immortal worlds connect.
Do ggae bi is the mythicalfigure that adorns the obverse design of the 2019 10 oz South Korean Zi:Sin Scrofa Silver Medal. The design is also used on the Chiwoo Cheonwang Series and is depicted on the shield of Chiwoo in this design. The grotesque image of Do ggae bi is believed to have the power to ward off evil forces.
The Korean Mint, KOMSCO, has gained prestige and international recognition on the back of the Chiwoo Cheonwang series, not only for the state of the art security measures employed in their mintage but also for the extreme artfulness and beauty of their immaculate designs.
