Biography
Alexander Vorodeyev is a Ukrainian artist, coin designer, and 3D sculptor who currently lives and works in Poland. Growing up with an artist father, Alex was immersed in a creative environment from an early age and developed a passion for drawing and wood carving. He attended art school, followed by the Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture. After the academy he began his career as an illustrator, spending a signifi cant time as an artist with the renowned illustration agency Bang!Bang!Studio (RU). His work was featured in an edition of the Illustration Now! series (published by Taschen), which showcases leading contemporary commercial illustrators worldwide.
His work as a developer of coin designs began in 2009, prompted by an invitation from Veronica McGuire to create coins for Treasures Of Oz. “It’s all thanks to Veronica that I entered the wonderful world of coins! Her offer to collaborate was the beginning of it all.”
“When designing coins, I started learning various 3D modeling and sculpting techniques essential for their production. I already possessed material sculpting skills from my education. My main motivation was to create bas-reliefs for my own designs. This then led to creating 3D sculptures based on commissions from other companies as well.”
“During this period, I worked for numerous clients globally. This led to a desire to streamline my operations, aiming to offer clients a complete production cycle, from initial ideas and sketching to preparing ArtCam files for manufacturing. This gave birth to the idea of Cameonova, and I’ve been working with a colleague under this brand since 2018.”
Clients include: Treasures of OZ, APMEX, Mint XXI, Fritz Reu, Lithuanian Mint, SOCIETE FRANCAISE DES MONNAIES, Reischauer, Euromint GMBH, etc.
